Privacy Policy

Short version: names are generated in your browser, your favorites stay on your device, and visits are counted with privacy-friendly, cookieless statistics on our own server.

What happens in your browser

All name generation runs locally in JavaScript. The options you choose and any word you type into "Include a word" are used only on your device to build suggestions. They are not sent to us or to anyone else.

Favorites and local storage

When you save a favorite, it is stored in your browser's local storage under this website. It never leaves your device. You can remove favorites with the "Clear all" button or by clearing your browser's site data. If local storage is unavailable, for example in some private browsing modes, favorites last only until you close the page.

No cookies or ads

NameLaunchpad does not set cookies, does not show ads, and does not load fonts, scripts or images from third-party servers. The only script loaded from outside namelaunchpad.com is the statistics script from our own analytics server described below.

Visitor statistics

To see which generators are useful, we count visits with Umami, an open-source, privacy-friendly analytics tool. It is self-hosted on our own server (stats.195-201-86-88.sslip.io), so no data is passed to Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics provider.

When a page loads, a small script sends the page address and title, the referring page, your browser, operating system and device type, screen size and language. The server derives your approximate location (country, and region or city where available) from your IP address. Your IP address itself is not stored: it is only used, together with your browser's user agent and a secret salt that is replaced at least once a month, to calculate an anonymised identifier so that visits can be counted without identifying you.

The statistics script sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and does not track you across other websites. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, no statistics are sent at all. The data is used only for aggregate statistics such as page views and visitor numbers; it is not used for advertising or profiling, not combined with other data and not shared or sold. The options you choose, the words you type and your favorites are never sent to the statistics server.

Server logs

Like any website, the web server that delivers these pages keeps standard technical logs, such as IP address, time, requested page and browser type, for security and troubleshooting. These logs are not used for advertising or profiling and are deleted automatically after 14 days.

Children

The site can be used without providing any personal information, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
