How to change the font in your Instagram bio
- Type your bio in the box. Every style updates as you type.
- Tap a style to see it in the profile preview, including the character count.
- Copy it, open Instagram, tap Edit profile and paste it into Bio or Name.
Instagram itself has no font menu for bios. These styles are special Unicode characters, so they look the same on every phone that shows your profile.
Instagram limits to know
- Bio: up to 150 characters. Some fancy letters count as two characters, so the counter in the preview counts them the way Instagram does in most cases; if the app refuses to save, shorten the text a little.
- Name: up to 30 characters. The name field is searchable, so many creators keep a plain keyword here, such as Anna | Travel Photographer, and use a fancy style only for decoration.
- Username: the @handle only allows letters, numbers, periods and underscores. Fancy characters do not work there; try the username generator instead.
Bio ideas that look good in fancy fonts
Highlight one line, not the whole bio. A common layout is a bold or script first line with who you are, a plain second line with what you post and a third line with a call to action, for example:

Small caps (แดสแดแด แดส แด ษชแดสษชแด๊ฑ) and bold sans (๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐น) stay readable on small screens. Script and gothic work best for a single word, such as your name.
Fonts in captions, stories and Reels
You can paste fancy text into captions and comments too. Stories and Reels have their own built-in fonts in the text tool, but pasted fancy characters work there as well. For reach, remember that Instagram search reads plain words better than styled letters, so keep important keywords and hashtags in normal text; the hashtag generator helps you pick them.
